In June of 1998 our 16-yr old son, Louis Nava, was murdered in Bartow County. It began a journey that we didn't want to be on and that we knew nothing about. I remember meeting Joe for the first time about two weeks later, and knew instinctively we were going to be in good hands. The care and compassion he and his staff showed our family went above and beyond what we expected. We never felt like we were just a case to him. He knew and understood that Louis was a young man with a family who loved him very much and we were hurting terribly. For that alone, we will forever be grateful. When the legal piece of the trials for my son's murderers was over in Bartow, we both thought how fortunate the people of the Cherokee Circuit were to have a D.A. that truly cared about people and doing his best to make sure justice was served. Joe truly is the BEST man for this job.
